About BluePrint Engines crate engines

BluePrint Engines builds crate engines in the USA for Chevy, Ford, GM LS and Mopar applications. A key feature of the BluePrint range is that most engines come at several dressing levels, from a long block up to fully dressed carbureted and EFI versions, so you can buy the same engine as complete as your project needs.

Understanding BluePrint dressing levels

  • Long block / base: block, rotating assembly, heads and valvetrain. You add the intake, fuel and ignition.
  • Base dressed / dressed: adds parts such as the intake manifold, timing cover and valve covers. Some dressed engines include a carburetor.
  • Fully dressed and EFI kits: the most complete versions, closest to drop-in ready, with carburetor or fuel injection and more of the accessories.

Each listing shows the part number and what is and is not included. Our long block vs short block guide explains the terms.
